This bundle includes three different text sets and their accompanying prompts to help prepare students for the inevitable state tests for which all teachers must prepare their students. The formatting is modeled off of AIR testing, which is used in many states, but it would work for nearly any other state-testing model. By Mistakes Allow Thinking to Happen

This item will help students practice adding and subtracting word problems with numbers up to 100. It does include some subtraction problems with regrouping. In total, there are 28 Task Cards: 14 addition and 14 subtraction. The product also includes an answer key so that things are ready to use and very low-prep.

Learning to make subjects and verbs agree in number is an important writing skill. Most of the time, writers can detect an error in subject/verb agreement because it sounds wrong. To those whose first language is not English, it may be more challenging to hear the errors. In this practice exercise, if students follow the first three steps from Charlene Tess’s Simple Steps to Sentence Sense grammar program, they can easily make the subject agree with the verb in number. Alphabetical Order skills are practiced by sorting Second Grade Dolch words using trains. The trains are put in ABC order by their first letter. This resource contains four sets of eight groups of word cars. The four sets increase in difficulty, from arranging three cars in a group to sorting six word cars into a group. 32 different sets for sorting.
